Alahna Lark is an award winning, Emmy nominated film producer. As a child of refugees her main goal is to improve the lives of people of color through her art.
She is the founder of Lark Media, a full-service production company that provides video production for a wide range of socially conscious clients.
Lark is the director, co-producer, and co-writer of Sweet Auburn Blues, a documentary about a historically Black neighborhood striving to reclaim its former glory. She also produced and executive produced the Emmy-nominated, three-time Telly Award-winning short film Made In America, which tells the story of a Salvadoran mother’s journey to create a better life for herself and her daughter.
In addition to her production work, Lark serves as the Programming Director for Signify.TV, an online streaming platform dedicated to showcasing work from marginalized content creators.
Her latest short film, Remembering Momma, debuted on the festival circuit in July 2022 at the International Black and Diversity Festival in Toronto, earning nominations for Best Short Film and Best Director. The film was also featured at the Cannes Independent Film Festival and the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards, where it received nominations for Best Independent Short Film, Best Actor, and Best Actress.
Currently, she is producing her second feature documentary, The Games in Black and White, which focuses on the cultural impact of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
